Business Success Secret
I had a great conversation with a potential client the other day and she asked me, “How can I create a six figure business quickly?” My response to her, “With persistence and a heck of a lot of effort.”
If you want to build a six figure successful business it requires that you show up everywhere, all the time. As I like to say, it requires that you “step into your greatness.” When I finally embraced this concept in my business I really started to see my business begin to evolve and grow.
When I am working with a client and we are brainstorming creative ways for them to “step it up”, they will often say that they are doing everything possible and the clients and the money is still not showing up! When I press them further what I typically hear is a laundry list of excuses like: “I am not sure that idea will work in my business” or “That seems like it will require more time than I have” or, here is a great one, “Maybe I should go look for a job.” Yikes! I don’t know about you but the thought of going out and getting a J-O-B makes me ill.
Being a success minded women business owner takes effort and a whole lot of it. I have had several businesses in my lifetime and the ones that have been the most successful have been the businesses that I put forth consistent effort.
So, before you give up on your dreams of a successful business let me say: What effort are you really putting into your business? Are you treating your business like a business or a hobby? Are you doing something everyday to move your business forward or are you just dreaming about how you will make the business successful?
All the dreaming in the world won’t make your business a success. So put away your dream pillow and embrace the fact that to be successful you will have to put in the sweat!
Are You Listening?
Today’s business success strategy is about listening to your clients?
When was the last time you listened to your customers? How do you figure out what your clients want and need? Do you use survey tools or during conversation do you listen for what they articulate as their needs?
If you are in business you need to be listening to your clients. By listening to your clients it opens the door for you to develop programs, packages and services that they will want to buy. What better way to increase your business than to give your clients what they want.
The company that succeeds in today’s economy is the one that has their ear to ground and is constantly innovating to meet the current market needs.
Who's Your Client?
‘Today’s business success strategy is about honing in on your target audience.
You’ve heard this a hundred times…people do business with people they know and trust. But if you don’t know who your target market is how do you find those people that want to do business with you? In today’s economic climate its even more important to hone in and focus on your ideal client.
I have said this before and I will say it again…you can’t market to everyone. When I first started my coaching practice I thought I could “coach” anyone. What a chore it was to craft a message aimed at the entire world. How do you address the entire universe’s biggest challenges? Sounds funny doesn’t it?
But it’s not. I am totally and 100% serious about this point. Figure out who your audience is and then craft a stategy that puts you in at the events, in front of the people and at the businesses. Start to develop a relationship with these people and see how easy it becomes to market your products and services to your ideal clients.
Know The Goal
Today’s business success strategy is about goal setting.
Do you know where you want to be next year, month or week? How will you know if you have achieved what you are aiming for? What are you focused on each that day that consistently moves you toward the goals you have for your business?
If you can’t answer these questions its because you don’t really know the goal! Goals need to be written down and referred to often. When you take the time to write out your goals you are making a commitment to yourself and your business. Goals are what keeps you focused when times get demanding and when you start to loose your way. It’s a reminder about what you are trying to accomplish.
