Chaos To Clarity
I had an awesome call with my Money, Marketing and Mindset Mastermind clients today. What came through crystal clear is how focused they are on WHO they serve.
When they came to the coaching program they were really scattered and unfocused working with anyone who would part with money so they could keep their business going.
In only a few short months, they have all gotten crystal clear on who their ideal clients are, how they solve a problem for those clients and the value behind what they do.
It’s awesome to see this unfolding as their business grows.
This could be you! Contact me today, if you want to learn how you can turn your business around before the end of the year!
Courageous Action
Do you believe you are courageous? Does the actions you need to take in your business make you feel afraid?
Well don’t worry because everyone one of us has an abundance of courage. Too many women entrepreneurs don’t believe that they have courage. But almost every act in business requires courage: raising your fees, sending out that book proposal, asking a new prospect to come to a meeting, and signing a new client. Creating a successful business requires courage! Agreed?
People mistakenly think that if they feel afraid that they don’t have courage. The opposite of courage is not fear; you can take courageous action and still be afraid. The opposing force of courage is doubt or uncertainty; and this is what will keep you stuck or sabotage your success.
When you are clear that you are going to raise your fees you are courageous. When you are clear that you are going to send out that book proposal you are being courageous. When you are clear that you are going expand your business you are being courageous…get the point!
What courageous action can you take a stand on in your business? What do you need to get clear on today, tomorrow and the next? I want you to choose one thing that you desire clarity on. Get clear in your choices and then choose. Know that the act of choosing is a courageous act.
Where Does Your Value Come From?
How do you feel your value? Do you know where your value comes from?
Your sense of value doesn’t come form other people it comes from within, from deep down in your core and emanates out of you in a way that people naturally respond to. Value coupled with clarity of purpose and decisiveness creates phenomenal confidence and results in your life and your business.
One of the ways that you can “feel” your value is to practice saying the following:
What I value in myself is….
Completing the sentence throughout the day gives you multiple opportunities to create a deep felt sense of your value. Complete it in every situation throughout the day. You will begin to feel your sense of value like you have never felt before.
It's All In The Connection
I attend a lot of networking events each month and I often have the opportunity to watch the interactions between the participants. There is something very different that happens when you put men and women in the same room together, unleash them and have them network versus when I watch what occurs at women only events like the DARE To Be Phenomenal’s Networking Events.
Typically at a Chamber event I see something strange happen to the women. They suddenly forget how to connect. They aimlessly go around shaking hands and exchanging business cards without “connecting” to the people they are meeting. Fast forward to one of the women only events I attend and you see something almost magical transpire – true connections being made.
So how to you stay true to you when networking? Follow these simple tips to make your next networking event more authentic for you.
Remember Your Heart
In a nut shell, be yourself! Real connections come from the heart. They are heart-felt, honest interactions between two or more people. No one is phony, inauthentic, or out solely for their own benefit. The difference is dropping that phony business persona you have created and instead interacting with people as if they were your friends. Now this doesn’t mean being unprofessional, but it does mean allowing people to see the real you. Others want to connect with like-minded quality people and will be more apt to introduce you to friends and associates if they like you.
What are the keys to business success? Honesty, curiosity and vulnerability coupled with intimate connections are the foundation of a successful and satisfied business and life. So stop thinking you have to be something you are not and start being yourself!
Have the Right Mindset
If you come from a place of service first and not from a mindset of what’s in it for me you will be more likely to make the kinds of true connections that you are looking for. Use your intuition to help you discern who would be a good connection for you and who would not and let this be your guide as you navigate your way. Not every person you meet will be someone you want to do business with. Always trust your gut, it will never steer you wrong.
Have Clarity
Be clear on what you want to accomplish at each event. Taking the time to meet with two or three people at an event where you can share some quality time learning about them and their business is better than running around collecting business cards of people you will never remember and who probably won’t remember you.
Networking is a great tool to build your business but it’s in the relationship building and follow up where true business connections are made. Be yourself, have the right mindset and be clear on your goals and networking success will be yours.
Get Focused On A Business Model That Works
Imagine this for a moment…you are a new business owner and are at an event where you can learn from some seasoned entrepreneurs. Someone asks you for your elevator pitch, you spew out a bunch of blah, blah blah leaving everyone in the room dazed and confused. Someones says: “Who is your ideal client?” and you respond, “Everyone!” with great enthusiasm.
Oh boy!
Sound familiar?
I attend an event very similar to the one I described just the other day. Although everyone I met had very different issues, the one thing that they all had in common was how unclear they were about where they were going and how they were going to get there. They were unsure who their target market was and more importantly they didn’t express how they helped their potential clients.
What did they lack?
Clarity! That’s right…clarity!
Without clarity in any given situation its like being lost at sea with no land in sight. You drift aimlessly around the water’s of confusion in the hope that something will trigger you to move in one direction or the other. Now you may finally figure it out on your own but I know one thing for sure that going it alone without the support of a mentor or coach will definitely take you a lot longer to find the direction you are seeking.
Just like the business owners I met the other night, I too lacked clarity when starting my business. Once I got really clear about what business model I wanted to adopt my business started to take off! I got help from a great coach and mentor which made all the difference. I stopped wasting my valuable time and instead started focusing and producing the kinds of results that I wanted in my business.
So if you feel lost in that sea of confusion, not sure how to develop your business so that it is fun, authentic and lucrative find a coach who can help you sift through it all and lead you towards a plan that makes sense AND makes you money.
Are You Afraid To Ask For Business?
Are you a confused? Do you know who you should be approaching to ask for business? Do you feel awkward when asking the question, “Would you like to work with me?” Learning to ask the right questions, to the right people, at the right time is not as complicated as you might think. Follow these simple tips to bust through your fear.
1. The first thing you must understand is what you are asking for. This may seem obvious, but for a lot of solopreneurs it’s as foggy as an early morning in San Fransisco. What does your ideal client look like? What do you want from your ideal client? How will you know when you find your ideal clients?
When you bring clarity to these questions it becomes really easy to know what you are looking for AND to know when you have found it! Without this clarity you are mulling around looking for clients in that San Francisco fog.
2. What is your plan? How and where are important pieces to the puzzle. This step is where you take action! If you never ask, you never get clients.
When you ask a potential client to work with you, you are leveraging the value of what you do. It allows others to know how you share your unique talents and gifts and ultimately how you help others.
3. Make a goal and determine how many people you are going to ask to either work with you or, have a complimentary session, or come to a free seminar. Whatever it is, make a goal to ask!
4. Finally, be consistent and keep on asking. Don’t think that this is a one shot deal. You must constantly and consistently ask for business or you won’t have a business because you won’t be bringing in any money! Remember, without the money, it’s just a hobby.
