Diva Toolbox Conference for Women Is A Huge Success!

Just wanted to post a short update on what’s been happening at the Diva Toolbox Conference for Women.

First, what a ball!  I have met some of the most wonderful business women at this conference from all over the world!  People like Merideth Liepelt, Kathy Garland, Barb Girson, Angie Strader, Lisa Reynolds, Cindy Morrison and so many more.  Watch for snippets, pictures and insights from these phenomenal women!

I presented yesterday and today and discussed…what else but money!  We develed into our money stories and I witnessed some amazing money breakthroughs from the participants.

Tomorrow is the closing and more great things are happening.  Check back next week to hear all the details of what happened and what we all learned.

Mirror, Mirror On The Wall…

Did you know how much money you make and how much you charge for your services is a reflections of your self worth?

It’s true.

I know for some of you that statement conjures up all sorts of feelings.  And you know what, I understand how hard it must be to realize that the small amount of money you’re making is in direct correlation to your self esteem.

That’s a hard pill to swallow.

But it doesn’t have to be that way forever.  You can do something about that money reflection that’s staring back at you in the mirror.  You can change it!

But first I want you to consider a few things:

1.  Do often offer discounts?  Do you even offer them BEFORE your even asked?  This type of behavior is often reflected in a person who has poor money boundaries.

You make an assumption that your perspective client can’t afford your services so you jump to discounting without having all the necessary information.  Sound like you?

The reality is that if your services are seen as valuable to the client they will buy from you.  But that’s another article.

Do you barter or trade?  That’s another indication of poor money boundaries.  Money needs to flow.  When you barter you block the natural energy of money from flowing to you and back out again.

Please don’t barter, ok?

2.  When was the last time you raised your fee?  If it’s been two ore more years or if you raised your fees but only by some minuscule amount of money then you lack money courage.

You’re typically  the person who likes your fees somewhere in the middle.  You don’t want to be the cheapest out there, but you definitely don’t want to be the most expensive.

The bottom line…your afraid to raise your fees and because your afraid, you don’t.

Fear is your primary motivator behind every excuse you make for why your fees are they way they are.

Check back later this week as I reveal two additional money reflections and some tips for helping to conquer your money self-saboteur.

If you enjoy what your learning here come to the Diva Toolbox Conference for Women where I will be revealing even more information and exercises you can do to put your money self-saboteur away once and for all.

What Does Helen Reddy, Madonna & Diva Toolbox Have In Common?

Today, they all ended up on the front page of the New York Post.

For the last two years, Janet Powers, Owner and Founder of the Diva Toolbox has been diligently building her business, spreading her mission to empower and inspire women everywhere!

I had listened to Janet proclaim many,  many times she would interview Helen Reddy and she did!  And what did the dream do for her?

Today, she ended up on the front page of the New York Post referenced in the same article with Helen Reddy and Madonna.

Several months ago Janet contacted  Reddy and requested an interview.  Although, Reddy hadn’t done many, if any interviews in the US  she agreed.

In the interview, Reddy makes some interesting comments about Madonna and appears to blame her for not being able to find a decent bra.

In terms of the article in the New York Post, Madonna’s rep was quick to respond. You can see the full article here:  http://www.nypost.com/p/pagesix/helen_bra_vado_over_madge_2PaPLEKfpcUM2yyjzvm9PL

This article has put Diva Toolbox out in the spotlight.  The View, Huffington Post, Madonna herself and many, many others have been tweeting all day about this story.  In the end, this has created invaluable exposure for the Diva Toolbox and The Diva Toolbox Network.

It also means the hundreds of radio hosts that are part of the Diva Toolbox community gain valuable exposure as well.

Are you  interested in having your own radio show on Diva Toolbox Radio Network with me and hundreds of others? To find out more details, head to http://www.DivaToolbox.com.  Call Janet today and find out what having a show can do for you.  Make sure you mention my name for an extra special gift.

4 Easy Ways To Market Yourself

When your starting it out in business it can be really frustrating if you don’t know what marketing activities you should be focused on.

Here are four simple ways to market yourself:

1.  Speak

Find as many speaking engagements as you can. Speak for free if you must, but get out there regularly and speak at places where your ideal clients would be.

There are plenty of organizations out there that are always looking for people to speak at one of their meetings.

When you do speaking engagements make sure that you get the biggest bang for your effort by ensuring you:

  • Record it
  • Collect the names of the attendees
  • Provide a handout
  • Mingle about before and after your talk or speech

2.  Network

…like crazy.

When I say network I don’t mean just going around and collecting business cards.  It does mean spending time at networking events where you’re  going to meet your ideal clients and critical buyers.

3.  Publish

Don’t have a blog?  Start one.

Write for your local community newspaper or on line magazine where you’re clients would be looking for information.

If you’re a women entrepreneur there are some great free on line communities where you can post your articles for free and gain valuable exposure.  The Diva Toolbox is one that comes to mind.

Get out there by spreading your message.

4.  Internet

Again start a blog.  Blogs are great because they add valuable content to your website regularly and the search engines love them.

Start a newsletter so that you can stay in touch with your clients and potential clients.

Check out HARO (Help A Reporter Out) to search for queries by reporters who are looking for people to be interviewed or other opportunities to expose yourself to the masses.

One of these marketing efforts is good, but use all of them as part of a comprehensive marketing plan and your efforts will really pay off.

Great Time At the Simmons Leadership Conference

This past Thursday and Friday I had the opportunity to attend the Simmons Leadership Conference with my good friends Janet Powers from Diva Toolbox and Lisa Honka, Development Director for the Wyndham Hotel.

On Thursday evening I had the opportunity to meet Ali Brown.  Ali Brown is a self made millionaire and  business coach.  I have been following Ali for at least a couple of years and am always impressed with what she is doing.

She was the guest speaker at a pre-conference event on Thursday night where she spoke to a crowd of 300 women.  What struck me the most was how many of these women in the audience where NOT business women but instead worked in the corporate arena.  Despite that fact her message was relevant to anyone listening.

In a nut shell, her message was do the best job you can do no matter if you are working for someone else or you have your own business.  Give it your all!

Besides having the opportunity to meet Ali and speak with her and her business partner, I also had the great pleasure of hearing a host of speakers that were fantastic.

If you have never attended the Leadership Conference I highly suggest that you consider doing so next year.

3 Simple Tips for Better Email Signatures

One of the easiest and most unused piece of FREE marketing is the email signature. Yes, that little piece of real estate at the bottom of your email messages.  A well crafted email signature is one of the easiest and simplest forms of marketing that you can engage in and yet it often goes unused or underutilized.

Here are three simple tips to make sure that you craft the most effective email signature line.

1. Make It 5 Lines or Less

Many email signatures are way too long.  They try to cram everything that is happening over the next year in these email signature lines that go on and on.  Who is going to read all that?

No one!  That’s who.

When you craft your email signature keep it to five well crafted lines of text.  Be creative and thoughtful with your email signatures.  I highly suggest that you craft several email signatures for ready use.  If you are launching a special program or product develop a new signature to use during on going promotion.

Keep them fresh and useful and they WILL be read.

2.  Include Results

When crafting that email signature include the results that you get for your clients.  Now I didn’t’ say, what you do, because quite frankly no one cares what you do.  They do care however,  what you can do for them.

So craft that email signature into a results driven description of what you can do for your clients.

3.  Give Them A Call To Action

When you craft that message make sure that you include a call to action. Typically this is either an invitation to get a free report or sign up for your newsletter or ezine.  My friend Janet Powers of Diva Toolbox asks in her email message to visit the site each day to be inspired!  Who could resist the invitation to be inspired?

No matter what you include make sure that it asks your reader to take a next step.

So go out and create some results driven email signatures and start getting better use of that free real estate at the end of your message!

What A Weekend!

This weekend I attended the Maximizing Success Wealth Retreat in Boston at the Hilton.  What an event!

First I was thrilled to be a sponsor of this event with my good friend Janet Powers from Diva Toolbox (check out her out at www.divatoolbox.com) and was able to attend the event with several of my very good friends.  We really had a ball.

I invited so many people to attend this event and unfortuatnlely if you didn’t attend you really missed out on some incredible inforamtion, resources and great contacts.

The event was filled with ample opportunity to network with other like minded, success oriented individuals and to meet some of the greats like Robert Allen, author of The One Minute Millionaire and Tracy Rupcheck one of the top ten female internet marketers in the world!

Watch my blog all week for great pictures and stories about the presenters!
